[US-China Relations Symposium] Escalating US-China trade friction and conflict and its impact on the Japanese and global economies
Trump's tariffs are sending shock waves through the global economy. The tit-for-tat battle between the U.S. and China, including retaliatory tariffs and countermeasures, is not only having a negative effect on the economies and imports and exports of both countries, but is also accelerating the disruption of industrial supply chains around the world, adversely affecting global economic growth. This symposium will discuss with leading experts the nature and problems of the escalating US-China conflict and trade and technology friction, as well as their future direction and their impact on the Japanese and global economies.

[Learn and Eat Food Culture Course] A Tale of Two Gourmet Cities: Paris and Lyon
The greatest feature of French food culture is its "gastronomy" customs, which have been registered as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. This custom is not limited to the cuisine of high-end restaurants, but is deeply rooted in the daily lives of the entire nation. This course will focus on two cities, Paris and Lyon, famous as "cities of gastronomy," and compare the historical process and characteristics of the unique development of their respective gastronomic traditions. After the lecture, we will sample traditional dishes from the common people of Paris and Lyon prepared by the former owner-chef of the Franco-Japanese House "L'Espace."
