Contribute to crisis management in Tokyo, the capital city ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games

Teikyo University Itabashi Campus has the Faculty of School of Medicine, Faculty of Faculty of Pharma-Science, Faculty of Faculty of Medical Technology and Hospital attached to the Faculty of School of Medicine, where cutting-edge basic research and clinical research activities are systematically conducted along with Practical learning education aimed at producing excellent human resources in the medical field. increase. Recognizing that it is necessary to further enhance crisis management measures in preparation for emergencies in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, where large-scale events such as the Olympic and Paralympic events are to be held, the Faculty of Medical Sciences has "crisis management" as a research subject. Will make every effort to contribute to the creation of a safe and secure society.

project overview

At Teikyo University, three medical Practical learning and a hospital attached to the School of Medicine, which is a disaster base hospital including an Trauma and Resuscitation Center, are concentrated on the same campus. Research and clinical research activities are conducted systematically. Taking advantage of this strength, under the leadership of the President, the Headquarters has set a future vision to form a research base that contributes to improving the quality and value of consumers' lives, and it is urgent. We decided to tackle "crisis management," which is a major social problem, with the entire university.
This project is divided into three stages, and in the first stage, the focus is on "crisis management" in the capital Tokyo, which is about to host the Olympics and Paralympics in 2020, and the medical faculties will organically collaborate. From drug addiction / pandemics to bacteria / virus terrorism, we conduct basic and applied research on crisis response in large cities. Then, we will build research data and educational programs based on the method of immediately analyzing and analyzing samples of medicines, poisons and microorganisms brought to the Trauma and Resuscitation Center, and establish a system to prepare for a crisis.
In the 2nd and 3rd stages, NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical substances), as well as contributing to familiar life-saving emergency (disease such as drug poisoning accidents and infectious diseases) considering the regional characteristics of Tokyo, We aim to build a wide range of "crisis management" for zoning and cyber terrorism in the event of a disaster as a global level one.

Project planning

■ Stage 1: Contribute to crisis management in Tokyo, the capital city ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games
As the first stage, we aim to contribute to the crisis management of the capital Tokyo, which is about to hold the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020. "Practical learning" (pharmaceutical toxicology analysis, pandemic analysis / planning of countermeasures, practical training program and concrete emergency treatment in the event of a disaster) that can apply basic and applied research across medical departments to actual social problems We will contribute to society by contributing to the prevention of pandemics of infectious diseases, drug poisoning, and abuse, which are feared at the world level.

■ Second stage: Promotion of university-wide crisis management research not only in medical faculties but also in social and science and engineering faculties
As the second stage, we are planning to expand the scope of research and to consider measures for social turmoil such as pandemics by participating in the business of social and science and engineering faculties. We will develop it into an interdisciplinary study that builds evidence from an international perspective on crisis management in the metropolitan Tokyo and neighboring prefectures.

■ Third stage: Promote crisis management research from a global perspective and make recommendations for creating a safe and secure society.
As the third stage, we will build a system that can provide high-level research by crisis management experts and researchers and the results to students. We will promote crisis management research from a global perspective by accumulating exchanges and information sharing on international joint research and systems centered on Asia. In addition, we will actively disseminate information and raise awareness about safety and security, and contribute to the local community and society.
