Supporting the acquisition of interdisciplinary knowledge and broad-based education Education and research center
Utsunomiya Campus Liberal Arts Center serves as a base for education and research, aiming to help students acquire interdisciplinary knowledge and a broad range of knowledge, and improve their academic abilities. In an era of rapid technological innovation and major social change, we aim to help each student discover their own strengths, envision their future careers, and develop the skills to thrive in society. To that end, our campus offers General Education courses across a wide range of fields, as well as courses required to obtain qualifications such as teaching licenses. Furthermore, we provide support for both the academic and lifestyle aspects of our students through various support services, including the Learning Support Office.
About Utsunomiya Campus Liberal Arts Center
Center philosophy
The mission of Utsunomiya Campus Liberal Arts Center is to "cultivate independent global citizens with high ethical standards and a sense of responsibility by enabling students to acquire interdisciplinary knowledge and a broad range of knowledge through independent and exploratory learning, and to develop the ability to continue learning throughout their lives." The Center, along with Center for Global Education, was established in 2017 as an organization for liberal arts education faculty on Utsunomiya Campus in 2021. Our center has four educational goals:
Students can experience how to learn academic subjects and develop their curiosity.
Students will be able to acquire and utilize the fundamental learning skills required for independent learning.
Students can establish the foundation for their learning environment based on their own time management in university life.
Students will be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively to solve problems.

In response to the growing number of international students, Utsunomiya Campus Center for Global Education was established in April 2017. It serves not only as a place for international students to study Japanese, but also as an important hub for interaction between international students and Japanese students across departmental and faculty boundaries, through events such as Christmas parties and strawberry picking.
