Educational purpose

Teikyo University's Graduate School Program for Advanced Occupational Health Professional Development (hereinafter referred to as the Occupational Health Program) focuses on "relearning" and "refreshment and career advancement" for industrial physicians, industrial health nurses, safety managers, and hygiene managers, etc., who are expected to have new human resource demands in the future in the "medical, welfare, and health" fields, and who have particularly many opportunities for women to play an active role. Based on competency-based education (CBE) that emphasizes the acquisition of high-level behavioral characteristics and problem-solving abilities, the program aims to train highly specialized professionals who possess both advanced practical skills and leadership in industrial health, who can take a leadership role in dealing with various industrial health issues in a problem-solving manner based on scientific judgment, and who can supervise and direct these activities.

Curriculum policy (curriculum organization policy)

In order to acquire the knowledge and abilities required to award a certificate of occupational health program, the curriculum will be organized according to the following policy.

"Basic Epidemiology", "Occupational Health", "Industrial Environmental Health Practice" and "Practical Report" to cultivate the epidemiological and statistical thinking of capturing human beings in relation to society and the environment and the occupational health mindset. 4 subjects are set as compulsory subjects.

  4. In order to gain exposure to the latest overseas trends and cutting-edge knowledge and to acquire a global perspective, we will hold "Special Lectures (Winter Intensive)" by world-renowned Professor from Harvard University and other institutions.
  5. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "Certificate of Course" and "Professional Practical Ability Development Program (BP)" and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's "Education and Training Benefit System (Specialized Practical Education and Training)" will support the career advancement of students.

Diploma Policy (Certificate Awarding Policy)

The Occupational Health Program aims to train highly specialized professionals who can deal with various occupational health problems that occur in the field from a leadership standpoint. Features of this program

After undergoing rigorous screening by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and with funding from the Ministry, students can systematically refresh their knowledge and skills required in the field of occupational health at a reasonable cost compared to relearning at Graduate School regular graduate school.
As an occupational health practitioner, students will be able to logically organize data and information collected in the course of their work and propose solutions to problems. In addition to lectures on epidemiology, biostatistics, and occupational health, which form the foundation of academic skills, students will also develop practical skills through exercises, practical training, and field research.
