Occupational Environmental Health and EBM Education / research / activity base
The Teikyo Teikyo Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (T-COEH) is a platform for human resource development, research, and activity support for occupational environmental health and EBM (evidence-based medicine). With the establishment of Teikyo Center for Occupational and Environmental Health, the EBM Center has been operating as the EBM department of the center since April 2017.
Center philosophy
As the circumstances surrounding occupational health change due to changes in industrial structure, globalization, and the aging of the workforce, difficult-to-solve issues in the field of occupational health are emerging, such as overwork, mental health problems, and disparities between regular and non-regular workers. Furthermore, against the backdrop of urbanization in Asia and other regions, global and local environmental problems such as air pollution are becoming more serious. Effective solutions to these problems require the accumulation of scientific evidence and the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of health policies based on that evidence. Teikyo University has been cultivating human resources in this field, including through a three-year Graduate School since 2014 to train advanced occupational health professionals, sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. In the field of environmental health, we are conducting joint research with overseas base universities, primarily in Asia. Based on the results achieved so far, we have established Teikyo Center for Occupational and Environmental Health as a comprehensive platform for human resource development, research, and activity support in the fields of occupational health, environmental health, and EBM.
