Tokyo Teacher Recruitment Selection Exam Pass (Special Needs School)

Q1. What made you want to become a teacher?

This is because I met a teacher who is an advisor for high school club activities. The teacher was a person who looked at each student properly, praised them, scolded them, and made them grow as a person. I also wanted to be such a teacher and aimed for a teaching profession. It wasn't until I became a university student that I wanted to become a teacher at a special needs school. I met children who belonged to a seminar and needed special support for part-time work and volunteer activities, and decided on this path.

Q2. Please tell us what you worked on to become a teacher after enrollment.

While gaining specialized knowledge through classes and seminars, I also experienced volunteer activities at a special needs school and part-time work in day service. By actually interacting with my children, I was able to realize the importance of this work. I think it will be very useful when I go to the actual site to output what I learned in college while interacting with my children.

Q3. How was it using the teaching profession center?

I was able to meet an important companion and a wonderful teacher. If I had such an encounter, I think I could have survived the examination period. Also, as a result of continuing to attend, essays that I was not good at became my specialty. That day when I took the courage to enter the teaching profession center was a turning point for me.

Q4. Please tell me the measures for the teacher employment exam.

In order to take effective measures, it is important to first know the tendency of the local government to take the examination. Based on Previous test papers and information from teachers at the teaching profession center, we thoroughly investigated "what problems are likely to occur in writing" and "what are asked in interviews". Knowing the trends can help you clarify what you need to do. It is also recommended to take measures with friends. The existence of friends who could encourage each other and share information was great.

Q5. Please tell us what you learned in the practical training.

The importance of research classes. Even if you intend to prepare 100 in one lesson, 10 of them will be given to the students. I felt that it was necessary to prepare 1000 and 2000 in the study of teaching materials in order to convey 100 things in one lesson. In addition, I learned the importance of the ability to accurately grasp the actual situation and bring out the goodness of each from the teachers who provide personalized support.

Q6. Please tell us the image of the teacher you are aiming for.

I want to be a teacher who can create a "place". I would like to seriously deal with each and every one of them so that both children and parents can trust them as "this person". To that end, I would like to stand in the position of the other person and continue to have a “heart of empathy” with the feelings of the other person. Even if I am a teacher, I want to keep in mind the attitude of "learning from children."

Q7. Please give some advice to current students who are aiming to become teachers.

It's no wonder that people with the same dreams are working hard together nearby, and that there are people who can support you at all times. That is why I feel it is important not to forget the feeling of gratitude. And sometimes it's important to take a break. Get hooked on your hobbies, work part-time, volunteer, go out and experience what you can only do now and what you can do now. I support you!
