Scholarships from external institutions are also available

There are scholarship systems from the Japan Student Services Organization which are spreading the circle of support to about 1,000 universities, local public organizations, and private organizations. They are systems to respond to unexpected misfortunes including natural disasters, and one of the purpose is to continue to support the circle of support and to spread the circle to the next generation without neglecting efforts.

Japan Student Services Organization Type 1 Scholarship

Target audience
Current students who are excellent in both academics and character, but find it difficult to study due to financial reasons

Loan amount
Going to school from parents
University: Select from 20,000 yen, 30,000 yen, 40,000 yen, and 54,000 yen per month
Junior college: Select from 20,000 yen, 30,000 yen, 40,000 yen, and 53,000 yen per month

Going to school from boarding home
University: Select from 20,000 yen, 30,000 yen, 40,000 yen, 50,000 yen, 64,000 yen per month
Junior college: Select from 20,000 yen, 30,000 yen, 40,000 yen, 50,000 yen, 60,000 yen per month

Lending period
From the beginning of the loan period determined by the Japan Student Services Organization to the end of the term of study at the school in which the student is enrolled.

Selection method
Academic performance (high school grades for 1st year), family financial situation, personality are examined

Japan Student Services Organization Type 2 Scholarship

Target audience
Current students who are excellent in both academics and character, but find it difficult to study due to financial reasons

Loan amount
Select from 20,000 yen, 30,000 yen, 40,000 yen, 50,000 yen, 60,000 yen, 70,000 yen, 80,000 yen, 90,000 yen, 100,000 yen, 110,000 yen, 120,000 yen per month
* Only if 120,000 yen is selected, the amount can be increased by 40,000 yen for the School of Medicine and 20,000 yen for the Faculty of Pharma-Science department.

Lending period
From the beginning of the loan period determined by the Japan Student Services Organization to the end of the term of study at the school in which the student is enrolled.

Selection method
Academic performance (high school grades for 1st year), family financial situation, personality are examined

Scholarships (loans or benefits) for local public and private education organizations

10,000 yen to 100,000 yen per month (depending on the group)
