Koichi Hamada

Our laboratory is working on research themes such as image processing, image recognition, and indoor environment recognition. At the undergraduate level, I am mainly in charge of programming-related subjects such as programming and image information processing lectures. At the Graduate School, I am in charge of the subject of cognitive information processing engineering.

Our Research

Research on image processing
We are researching image restoration that restores images containing blur and noise to the original beautiful image, and super-resolution technology that generates high-resolution images from low-resolution images.

Research on image recognition
Image recognition is a technology that allows computers and machines to identify what is in an image. We are researching image recognition using deep learning and image recognition technology when the number of image data is too small to use deep learning.

Research on indoor environment recognition
We are researching technology that automatically recognizes floor plans and furniture positions from images of surveillance cameras installed indoors and watching cameras, and recognizes the indoor damage situation at the time of an earthquake. We are also promoting the use of sound data as well as camera images.

Introducing the FacultyThis section introduces details about the research and the passionate thoughts around the research.
