Master's Program / Master's Program

General Entrance Exam

Those who fall under any of the following (1) to (9), or those who are expected to fall under any of the following by the end of March 2024

  • (1) Those who have graduated from a university.
  • (2)Those who have been conferred a bachelor's degree in accordance with the provisions of the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education.
  • (3)Those who have completed 16 years of school education in foreign countries.
  • (4)Those who have completed 16 years of school education in foreign countries by taking correspondence courses offered by foreign schools in Japan.
  • (5)Those who have successfully completed a course of study at foreign universities in Japan (limited to a course of 16 years of school education abroad), which has been specifically recognized by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology as an educational institution positioned in foreign countries' school education system as having such a course (limited to a course of study in which the graduates are deemed to have completed 16 years of school education in foreign countries).
  • (6)Those who have successfully completed a program of study lasting at least three years at universities or other foreign institutions in foreign countries (limited to those that have been evaluated by a person who has been accredited by the government of the relevant foreign countries or a relevant organizations with regard to the overall status of its education and research activities, etc., or those that are designated separately by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology as equivalent thereto) and received a degree that is equivalent to a bachelor's degree (including the completion of a course by completing class subjects in correspondence courses offered by a school in a foreign country in Japan or the completion of a course at educational institutions that are part of the school education system in a foreign countries and has been designated under the preceding item).
  • (7)Those who have finished a special training program at vocational schools designated separately by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology on or after the date specified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (limited to those who meet the criteria specified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, including the requirement that the period of study be four years or longer).​ ​​ ​
  • (8)Those designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology.
  • (9) Persons who have reached the age of 22 and who have been recognized as having academic ability equal to or higher than that of university graduates through individual entrance qualification screening as determined by each graduate school.

Entrance examination for working adults

Those who fall under any of the following (1) to (9) and have at least 3 years of work experience at the time of admission to the Graduate School (April 1, 2024)

  • (1) Those who have graduated from a university.
  • (2)Those who have been conferred a bachelor's degree in accordance with the provisions of the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education.
  • (3)Those who have completed 16 years of school education in foreign countries.
  • (4)Those who have completed 16 years of school education in foreign countries by taking correspondence courses offered by foreign schools in Japan.
  • (5)Those who have successfully completed a course of study at foreign universities in Japan (limited to a course of 16 years of school education abroad), which has been specifically recognized by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology as an educational institution positioned in foreign countries' school education system as having such a course (limited to a course of study in which the graduates are deemed to have completed 16 years of school education in foreign countries).

[Caution]

Applicants who fit into category (9) above are eviewed for admission eligibility on an individual basis; they won't be permitted to apply until they have been granted admission.

Doctoral Program

General Entrance Exam

Those who fall under any of the following (1) to (8), or those who are expected to fall under any of the following by the end of March 2024

  • (1)Those who have a master's or professional degree
  • (2) Those who has been awarded a bachelor's degree or a degree equivalent to a professional degree in foreign countries.
  • (3)Those who have received a master's degree or a degree equivalent to a professional degree after completing correspondence courses offered by foreign schools in Japan.
  • (4)Those who have been awarded a master's degree or a degree equivalent to a professional degree after completing courses at an educational institutions in Japan that is positioned under the school education system of foreign countries as having foreign graduate school curriculum and is separately designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology.
  • (5)Those who have completed courses of study at the United Nations University and have been awarded a degree equivalent to a master's degree.
  • (6)Those who have completed courses of study at schools in a foreign countries, educational institutions designated under item 4, or at the United Nations University, and have passed an examination and screening equivalent to those stipulated in Article 16-2 of the Standards for the Establishment of Graduate Schools, and have been recognized as having academic ability equivalent or superior to person who holds a master's degree.
  • (7)Those designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology.
  • (8) Persons who have reached the age of 24 and who have been recognized as having academic ability equal to or higher than those with a master's degree or professional degree through individual entrance qualification screening as determined by each graduate school.

Entrance examination for working adults

Those who fall under any of the following (1) to (8) and have at least two years of work experience most recently at the time of admission to this Graduate School (April 1, 2024)

  • (1)Those who have a master's or professional degree
  • (2) Those who has been awarded a bachelor's degree or a degree equivalent to a professional degree in foreign countries.
  • (3)Those who have received a master's degree or a degree equivalent to a professional degree after completing correspondence courses offered by foreign schools in Japan.
  • (4)Those who have been awarded a master's degree or a degree equivalent to a professional degree after completing courses at an educational institutions in Japan that is positioned under the school education system of foreign countries as having foreign graduate school curriculum and is separately designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology.
  • (5)Those who have completed courses of study at the United Nations University and have been awarded a degree equivalent to a master's degree.
  • (6)Those who have completed courses of study at schools in a foreign countries, educational institutions designated under item 4, or at the United Nations University, and have passed an examination and screening equivalent to those stipulated in Article 16-2 of the Standards for the Establishment of Graduate Schools, and have been recognized as having academic ability equivalent or superior to person who holds a master's degree.

    • (1) Prior application is required before payment. Please access the "Entrance Examination Fee Payment Guidance" site and enter the prescribed information required for payment. In addition, it is necessary to enter the "reference number" when entering. Enter [12345678] and an 8-digit number for the reference number.
      Also, please note that if there is no e-mail address entered when entering basic information, the payment confirmation e-mail will not be sent.

      In addition to the entrance examination fee, a service usage fee of 1,100 yen per case will be charged.
    • (3)You will receive a confirmation email once the application fee payment has been verified. Please use the link in the confirmation email to access the "Guidance for Payment of Application Fee" website, print the "Proof of Payment," and paste it in the corresponding space on the back of the application form (if you do not receive an email, please access the site from the URL above). Payments without a "proof of collection" attached will not be accepted. In addition, receipts or statements from convenience stores or ATMs will not be accepted.

    The application period extends from one week before the start date of the application period to 16:30 on the day of the application deadline.

How to apply

By mail (must arrive by the deadline date)
Please send the complete set of application documents in an envelope marked as "Graduate School Application Documents inside the envelope (大学院出願書類在中)" by registered mail from the post office.
Please keep the "Registered Mail Receipt (書留郵便物受領証)" issued by the post office.
Applications must arrive before the deadline date. The postmark on the deadline is not the deadline date.

Notes on Application

  1. If the application documents are incomplete, we do not accept them.
  2. No changes will be made to the examination date, graduate school, major, course, desired course, elective examination subject, etc. after the application has been submitted.
  3. Submitted application documents and the application fee will not be returned under any circumstances.
  4. Please be sure to fill in the contact information (mobile phone number, telephone number, email address) on the application form as it will be used for important communications.
  5. If there are any changes in the address or contact information provided in the application, please notify the campus where you submitted your application immediately.
  6. Even after the admission procedures have been completed, the university reserves the right to cancel the admission if the submitted documents are found to be inaccurate.

Examination slip

  1. The examination voucher will be mailed to the address provided by the applicant on the application form.
  2.
