● The number of applicants for each examination category is expected to be the number of applicants who have completed the procedures.

  • * 1 We implement a public offering system (exclusive application).
  • * 2 The selection of the common test for university admission is conducted only in the first admission.
  • * 3 We plan to apply for approval from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology this fall for a temporary capacity of 6 people. The breakdown of the temporary capacity is Fukushima prefecture special area quota (2 people), Chiba prefecture special area quota (2 people), Shizuoka prefecture special area quota (2 people).
  • * 4We plan to recruit Fukushima Prefecture Regional Medical Doctor Securing Study Fund Applicants (2 people), Chiba Prefecture Doctor Study Fund Loan System Appluicants (2 people), Shizuoka Prefecture Medical Study Training Fund Applicants (2 people) in the general selection special area quota.
  • * 5 We plan to recruit one person (1 person) who is eligible for the Ibaraki Prefecture Community Medical Doctor Study Fund Loan System in the general selection special area quota.

Eligible applicants

Open enrollment for participants (exclusive application)

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements and be recommended by a high school principal or secondary school principal

  • Those who are expected to graduate from high school or secondary school in March 2023, are physically and mentally healthy, and can adapt to 6 years of medical education including practical training.
  • Those who have a grade of 4.0 or higher in the entire survey for their grades up to the first semester of the final year of high school or secondary school.
  • Applicants must be able to make a firm commitment to enroll if accepted.

Selection Process

  • Basic ability aptitude test (3 subjects method)
  • Short Essay
  • Interview
    Time: Approximately 10 minutes / Format: two faculty members for one examinee.
  • Document screening (School records, etc.)

Available benefits and systems

English external test use system
If you meet the standard score of the English qualification or certification test specified by the university, you can use the results of the English external test by applying at the time of application. In the school recommendation type selection (open enrollment system) of the School of Medicine, it is taken into consideration when making a pass/fail judgment. For details, please refer to "Admissions Examination Guidelines 2023".

Selection Process

Primary selection

Pass or fail will be determined using the sum of the top three scores on the 2023 Common Test for University Admissions in the subjects and courses chosen by the university.

Secondary selection

Only those who have passed the first screening are judged by conducting an English (long reading comprehension) test, an assignment writing test, and an interview, which are unique to the university. The interview is conducted for about 10 minutes by two faculty members for each examinee.

  • * 1For the "English" category, the score for Reading (out of 100 points) will be calculated in two ways: the score for Reading (out of 100 points), compressed to 80 points, plus the score for Listening (out of 100 points), compressed to 20 points, and the higher score will be used.
  • * 2If the applicant takes three or more subjects, the two with the highest scores will be used for the pass/fail decision.
  • * 3 For "Japanese", add "classical (old and Chinese)" (out of 100 points) to "literature after modern times" (out of 100 points) and "literature after modern times" (out of 200 points). Two types of points compressed to a maximum of 100 points are calculated, and a high score is adopted.
