Teikyo University Ranked in the "801–1000th" Category of THE World University Rankings

Teikyo University applied for evaluation as part of this year's World University Rankings, whose results were announced on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Of the world's roughly 18,000 universities (among these, actual number of ranking applicants is undisclosed), Teikyo University was placed in the "801–1000th" category among the 1,662 universities in 99 countries and regions that were awarded rankings.

Since Teikyo University's first participation in the World University Rankings was in 2019, the university has been awarded rankings for four years running.

The World University Rankings are published every year by higher education magazine Times Higher Education (THE). Rankings are based on 13 indicators in the 5 categories of "Teaching”, "Research", "Citations", "International Outlook" and “Industry Income", with points awarded in each category based on investigations and then totaled to determine university rank assignments.

Among the 118 universities in Japan that received rankings, Teikyo University placed 19th overall (tied rank) and 5th among private universities (also tied rank). This success was due in large part to numerous citations of Teikyo University academic papers, which is one of the determining factors in the Times Higher Education (THE) rankings.
