Teikyo University was ranked 801-1000th out of 1,646 institutions from 116 countries and regions worldwide in the "THE Sustainability Impact Rating 2026" (formerly THE Impact Ranking), announced on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, and was ranked 7th (tied) among private universities nationwide. This marks the sixth consecutive year that the university has been ranked in the THE Impact Ranking since its first entry in 2021.
This ranking, compiled by the British higher education magazine "Times Higher Education (THE)," ranks universities based on their contributions to sustainability, aligned with the 17 goals of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our university ranked 19th (tied) among the 30 national universities included in the overall ranking, and 7th (tied) among private universities. This was due to our high rankings in SDG 3 "Good Health and Well-being," SDG 16 "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions," and SDG 10 "Reduced Inequalities."
Our university will continue to promote initiatives toward the SDGs through our educational and research activities.
