The Nagai Seminar conducted its TABLE FOR TWO activity in 2025Hachioji Campus

From June to December 2025, the seminar of Lisa Nagai, Senior Assistant Professor the Department of Faculty of Economics at Teikyo University's Department of Economics, conducted an activity at Solatio Kitchen and Tsutayukan Cafeteria to provide TFT menus with an additional 20 yen to cover the cost of school lunches for children in developing countries.
TFT stands for TABLE FOR TWO, an initiative promoted by the international NPO TABLE FOR TWO International. It aims to address the food imbalance between lifestyle-related diseases such as obesity in developed countries and hunger and malnutrition in developing countries, thereby simultaneously improving the health of people in both sectors. For every TFT meal purchased, 20 yen is donated to provide school lunches for children in developing countries. This initiative, started in 2021 by the first graduating class of Professor Nagai's seminar who wanted to do something even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, is now in its fifth year in 2025.
Now, students take the lead in everything from menu development and pricing to public relations and on-the-day sales, with support from the cafeteria chief and Senior Assistant Professor Nagai. In 2025, they worked on menu development from the perspective of utilizing local resources and promoting international understanding, and also collaborated with students from the Department of Department of Sociology in Faculty of Liberal Arts to develop new menus. As the students' activities have become widely recognized on campus, and many students and faculty members have purchased TFT menus, the number of meals sold in 2025 reached 1,871, and the total number of meals sold since 2021 reached 8,702.

Through the activities of Professor Nagai's seminar, in 2025, we were able to donate 1,871 meals to support school lunches for children in developing countries. The students gained practical learning opportunities through TFT activities, enabling them to understand the problems of developing countries by connecting them to concrete actions.

The TFT (Tabletop Functionality) activities will be taken over by the 6th generation of the Nagai Seminar, and the 2026 TFT menu will begin to be offered from July. The Nagai Seminar will continue to engage in social contribution activities, including TFT activities, in the future.
