From May 12th (Tue) to July 21st (Tue), 2026, Center for Japanese language Education at Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus will be hosting an exchange program for international students titled "Let's use Japanese with Japanese seniors."
This project is an exchange program planned and operated by the student organization "Ouchi Concierge." It is implemented with the aim of increasing opportunities for international students to use Japanese and deepening their interactions with Japanese students. Ouchi Concierge is a student organization that operates mainly with students taking Japanese language teacher training courses, based at OUCHI COMMONS and Center for Japanese language Education, with the aim of supporting international students and promoting intercultural exchange on campus.
This program offers a variety of themes useful for international students' student life, such as "Let's introduce ourselves," "Let's find a part-time job," "Let's write a report," and "Let's ask Japanese people for their recommended travel spots." These themes are set by Ouchi Concierge students and are designed to encourage participation from international students, rather than being one-sided talks by Japanese students. Participating international students acquire practical Japanese language skills through conversations with Japanese students and gain information useful for their student life in Japan.
Moving forward, our university will continue to actively implement initiatives to promote exchange between international and Japanese students, in order to realize Educational Guidelines of "International perspectives."
