Practitioner training program The Department of Division of Clinical Psychology emphasizes Practical learning and prepares a practitioner training program. In this program, clinical training will be conducted after learning techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dynamic approach, person-centered therapy, and therapeutic approach. In addition to Teikyo University Hospital, educational institutions such as kindergartens and elementary schools, clinics of off-campus affiliated institutions, and medical juvenile training schools are available for training. Students can practice in a wide range of sites.
Teikyo University Mental Health Center Of the various clinical trainings, the most important one is the clinical training at the Teikyo University Mental Health Center. The Teikyo University Mental Health Center is a counseling facility for local people and provides psychological support services. In the 1st year of the master's course, they will be in charge of reception, and in the 2nd year, they will work on clinical training dealing with actual cases. Students also participate in the case conference.
Foster highly specialized researchers and professionals In the Division of Psychology, we develop those who cultivate a high level of research ability and abundant academic knowledge related to psychology, who independently carry out high-level research as researchers, and who are engaged in highly specialized psychological clinical work or educational work, etc. Therefore, in the field of basic psychology, we set the latest subjects in each field, "Special research" and "Special exercises" which conduct experiments such as animal experiments and biological reaction measurement. In social psychology and developmental psychology, we focus on observation. It is a requirement to complete the course by compiling the research results as a dissertation.
Grades are issued on the portal site every semester (or at the end of the academic year for students enrolled only in year-round courses). However, the final grades (pass or fail) for Master's Program (2nd year, 4th semester) and Doctoral Program (3rd year, 6th semester) will be handed out at the university. The number of credits required to complete is 40. (Required subjects: 20 credits, Elective compulsory subjects: 4 credits or more from each specialized group, 20 credits or more in total) In addition, this is also the credits required to take the clinical psychologist qualification examination.
When you take the neseccary credits and pass the thesis examination, you will complete.
Doctoral Program Division of Psychology (Doctoral Program)
A total of 16 credits are required to complete the course.
As a general rule, please take the courses of your academic advisor for 3 consecutive years.
When you take the neseccary credits and pass the dissertation examination, you will complete.
Even if the required number of credits is fulfilled, failure to submit or fail to pass the doctoral dissertation will result in dismissal from the program at the end of the term.
(3rd year)Even if complete Doctoral program in March, please submit your dissertation and other necessary documents to Graduate School of Education Group by the beginning of November.
