Various extracurricular activities of "art and social contribution"

In this class, we look for "what art can do in society" and think about not only expressing individuals but also transmitting them. As part of this, we are planning and implementing work productions and workshops to enliven events and the community.

Lecture content

"Art" is not just about "expressing personal thoughts, ideas, and feelings." It also has the function of "creating something based on shared feelings" and "sharing feelings through creation." This class plans and holds six to eight learning workshops a year with Teikyo University Kindergarten children. These workshops are called "Exciting Work." By thinking of creative expression activities that children can enjoy and actually working with them, students acquire a variety of social skills.

Exciting work carried out (December 2021)

We held a creative activity with the older children at Teikyo University Kindergarten. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to create an exciting face shield out of necessity. We decorated the face shield using cellophane stickers, round stickers, markers, and more.
The children were able to put their ingenuity into their creations and have fun, and the students also participated independently and proactively, resulting in a fulfilling time for both. Through activities like this, the children and students can experience the cycle of learning together.
