Through basic subjects, specialized subjects, and seminars , we will cultivate the ability to express one's own opinions, communicate, and solve problems while providing steady and polite guidance through small-group education. In addition, we arrange various opportunity to study in a wide range of fields, such as various study abroad programs where students can study languages at the best place and an open curriculum system where students can take courses from other faculties.

Educational Guidelines of the Faculty of Language Studies

Develop presentation and communication skills through small-group education. In addition, students will acquire practical problem-solving skills to deal with and solve difficult problems while talking each other. In addition, we aim to not only study language, but also to acquire a wide field of view by learning the multilingual proficiency as a Practical learning study of the Faculty of Language Studies, the culture and history of the country or region where the language to be acquired is spoken, and understanding what is behind the language.

Specialized subjects / exercises

Specialized subjects include a diverse group of subjects that develop the four language skills <reading>, <writing>, <listening>, and <speaking> in a well-balanced manner. Through small-group education, students will develop presentation skills, communication skills, and the ability to solve various problems while exchanging opinions.

Seminar
Seminars are places where a small number of people can present their opinions, listen to the opinions of others, and train their logical thinking. In the world of globalization, we aim to develop human resources who can deal with various problems practically across linguistic and cultural spheres.

Small-group education

We have a small group of about 20 students per class for both language classes and seminars. The aim is to focus on communication with students and to steadliy build their knowledge while checking their level of understanding. We aim to create outgoing and interactive lessons in which students can participate independently through various activities such as group work. In addition, compulsory English subjects are organized by level so that students can study effectively.

Open Curriculum

Open Curriculum

Students of the Faculty of Language Studies can take some of the specialized education courses offered at each faculty / department of the Hachioji Campus and Teikyo University Junior College. The credits earned will be recognized as a common elective course.
