Faculty of Education is located on the lush Hachioji Campus, and offers a variety of learning environments, including practical training opportunities at the adjacent Teikyo University Elementary School, Teikyo University Media Library Center, which boasts an extensive collection of books, a childcare practice room that recreates a classroom, and a field where students can experience farming.The Teacher Training Center also provides individual guidance and information to students, providing thorough support to students who aim to become educators or childcare workers.
Learning environment
Teikyo University Media Library Center (MELIC) MELIC is the academic information hub of Hachioji Campus. With a collection of over 850,000 books, PC stations for information searching and report writing, a university-wide reading promotion project called the "Co-Reading Library," and study support from senior students, it is a learning space where people and information come together and new ideas and knowledge are born.
Childcare training room This is a training room for students aiming to obtain a childcare worker qualification or a kindergarten teacher's license, and is a classroom that imitates the classrooms of kindergartens and nursery schools. It is mainly used in practical lessons such as "teaching method of childcare content", "childcare training guidance", and "kindergarten education training practice", and practically learns how to give baby bathing and how to make milk using baby dolls. In the practical training, students also perform simulated childcare based on the childcare plan made by the students.
Teikyo University Elementary School Teikyo University Elementary School, located on the lush greenery Teikyo University Hachioji Campus, is an elementary school that practices thorough small-group education with the aim of developing children with a good balance of "knowledge, emotion, will, and body." The Faculty of Education takes advantage of this location and incorporates elementary school visits into classes with the cooperation of elementary schools. Students learn the methods of class analysis and the learning goals of the unit in advance, and then visit the site. Through practical instruction in collaboration with the field of education, students can get closer to immediate action.
Teikyo University Center for Teacher Education The Teacher Training Center is a comprehensive support center for teacher training students, offering consultations on course plans and the teacher recruitment exam, as well as individual instruction, support for independent study groups, and information on teacher recruitment. Our faculty and Senior Assistant Professor, with extensive teaching and instruction experience, offer individual consultations and practical guidance for the teacher recruitment exam. We support students in pursuing their dreams of becoming a teacher, both during their studies and after graduation. In addition, our dedicated faculty, who are familiar with the childcare field, offer support for students seeking qualifications as childcare workers and kindergarten teachers. We provide meticulous, detailed guidance, including practical training, on-site guidance, pre- and post-training interviews, and career counseling after qualifications are obtained.
