The 4th President Cup Japanese Presentation Contest for International Students was held at Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus on Monday, December 15, 2025. The contest aims to provide an opportunity for international students to present the results of their Japanese language studies, not only to improve their Japanese language skills but also to deepen intercultural understanding between international students and Japanese students through collaborative learning. International student speakers and Japanese student supporters were paired up to prepare for the presentations.
This year's theme was "My favorite Japanese language" and the 10 international student speakers who passed the document screening gave a magnificent presentation of their episodes and thoughts about the Japanese language. While waiting for the judging, the university's Cheerleading Club also performed, and the entire audience got involved in the performance, which was very exciting. After a strict judging process, the President prize was awarded to the international student speaker, Ms. Bovianski Lala (Faculty of Languages and Cultures, 2nd year) and the Japanese student supporter, Ms. Aimi Takagi (Teikyo University Junior College, 1st year) for their presentation "Each One's Story: Japanese Names" and they received trophies from Chairman, President and Yoshihito Okinaga. The Audience Award, which was decided by the votes of the audience, was given to "Can you translate my favorite word into Thai?" by international student speaker Thiyavunchai Patchillar (Faculty of Languages and Cultures, 1st year) and Japanese student supporter Keita Iida (Faculty of Languages and Cultures, 2nd year). won the award.
Okinaga Chairman and President, who served as judges, commented, "We heard a presentation with very rich content. I think it is a wonderful experience for international and Japanese students to work hand in hand on a single topic, and I hope they will cherish this relationship. I hope that the international students, Japanese student supporters, and Teikyo University students will continue to move forward toward their clear goals with vigor and enthusiasm," he said in his closing remarks, along with words of gratitude to the judges, spectators, and sponsors.
Teikyo University will continue to promote the internationalization of its campus through learning and exchange, with Center for Japanese language Education providing support for international students in their Japanese language studies and Office of Global Education operating "OUCHI COMMONS," a cross-cultural exchange space between international students and Japanese students.
