Director Iwade Sports Bureau gave a special lecture on teamwork and specialized knowledge through sports atFukuoka Campus.

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, a special lecture was held at Teikyo University's Fukuoka Campus by Masayuki Iwade, Sports Bureau.
On the day, the lecture began with a theme of "Teamwork, collaboration, problem-finding and problem-solving skills through sports" for first-year students from all departments and courses at Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology, followed by a theme of "Specialized content specific to sports" for third- and fourth-year students from Department of Physical Therapy.
In the medical field, Team Medical Care involving collaboration between multiple professions is important, and within this, leadership (the ability to bring those around you together) and ownership (the attitude of taking action as if it were your own responsibility) are said to be important qualities in growing as a medical professional. By being aware of these two qualities, you can grow into a trustworthy medical professional who learns and acts independently during your training and future medical practice. In this special lecture, Professor Ikeda, who has achieved the remarkable feat of being the number one university in Japan in the All Japan University Rugby Football Championship 10 times and has devoted himself to developing and coaching student athletes for many years, spoke about the importance of teamwork, leadership, and ownership, including specific anecdotes, providing an opportunity to further consider personal growth in his future university life.

Through lectures by experts in a variety of fields, we will continue to train each student to demonstrate leadership and ownership, and to become individuals who can thrive in the field of Team Medical Care.
