From Friday, January 24th to Sunday, January 26th, 2025, the seminar of Lisa Nagai, Senior Assistant Professor the Department Faculty of Economics, Department of Economics, Teikyo University, held a special exhibition titled "Alcoholic Facts Exhibition - For those who can drink and those who can't" at the event space on the 4th floor of Shibuya Smart River (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo).
As an SDGs seminar this year, Nagai's seminar participated in the Shibuya Smart Drinking Project *1 from the perspective of SDG 3 "Good health and well-being for all," and as part of university collaboration, they came up with a plan on the theme of "Doing XX with Smart Drinking" to realize the goal of "promoting understanding of smart drinking *2 among Generation Z and helping them to internalize and spread new ways of enjoying alcohol." This special exhibition was held in collaboration with Smart Drink Co., Ltd., after a presentation of a plan they had conceived on the theme of "Doing XX with Smart Drinking" to related companies. A student from Nagai's seminar won the grand prize and was granted the right to implement the project.
The exhibition aimed to provide an opportunity for people to understand each other's feelings by introducing "common alcohol-related experiences" through illustrations and captions that show the perspectives of both drinkers and non-drinkers. The illustrations were also created with the cooperation of many people, including students from the University's Art Club and Bunka Fashion College.
Yoshimoto Miyu (3rd year, Faculty of Economics) played a central role in the project, communicating with those who helped create the illustrations and directing the team, commenting, "Writing the instructions and captions for the illustrations was very difficult, but it deepened the bonds with the team members. I'm glad that it has finally taken shape after more than six months." Takahashi Akihisa (3rd year, Faculty of Economics) served as the liaison with related company representatives, and reflected, "We actually visited the exhibition space with the companies and made preparations. It was a valuable experience that I can use in my future life as a working adult."
Over the three days, over 130 people visited the exhibition, and many people sympathized with the exhibit. Nagai's seminar will continue to work toward achieving the SDGs.
