On Saturday, June 22, 2024, the Taisho School District Safe and Secure Town Development Training Seminar was held at the Taisho Elementary School Community Center, where the activities of the student crime prevention volunteer group "Safe and Secure Security Team" from Teikyo University's Fukuoka Campus were introduced.
Approximately 30 residents of the school district attended the training session. After a lecture by a disaster prevention specialist on disaster prevention measures such as earthquakes and floods, Captain of the Safety and Security Team, Yoji Fukuda (3rd year Emergency Medical Technician Course), explained that the "Safety and Security Team" has been working with the Omuta Police Station and local volunteers for the past 12 years to prevent crime and accidents, aiming to ensure the safety and security of the community. He also spoke about recent activities such as graffiti removal, nighttime crime prevention patrols, and drug abuse prevention awareness activities. Furthermore, to raise awareness of Fukuoka Campus, the only university in Omuta City, he promoted the university by talking about its open campus and public lectures, among other things, to help students learn more about the university.
One resident who attended the event said, "It was great to learn about the university and the activities of the Safety and Security Team. I would love for you to join us in our crime prevention activities in the school district."
The "Safety and Security Team" will continue to actively carry out student crime prevention volunteer activities in cooperation with the local community to ensure that local residents can live safely and with peace of mind.
