Utsunomiya CampusGraduate School from our university's Graduate School of Science and Engineering received the "Excellent Presentation Award" at the 57th Conference of the Plant Chemical Regulation Society.

From November 25th (Friday) to 27th (Sunday), 2022, at the 57th Annual Meeting of the Society of Department of Biosciences Regulation held at the Eiheiji Campus of Fukui Prefectural Faculty of Science and Engineering, Senior Assistant Professor Koji Miyamoto's laboratory Affiliation Mr. Hideo Inagaki (Graduate School of Science and Engineering Division of Integrated Science and Engineering 3rd year doctoral student) won the excellent presentation award (poster award).

Dr. Inagaki's award was titled "Elucidation of the downstream signal of OsCOI2 that plays a major role in jasmonate responses in rice", and analyzed the functions of major jasmonate receptors in rice. Dr. Inagaki discovered that the OsCOI2-OsJAZ2/5 complex, which is the major jasmonic acid receptor in rice, is involved in the production of antibacterial compounds, etc. This discovery has potential applications in plant disease control technology. Expected. This research is a joint research with the Center for Advanced Instrument Analysis and Tohoku University.
