Carlos won the 4th place in the vault by event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and also won the gold medal in the vault by event and the silver medal in the parallel bars at the World Gymnastics Championships. In particular, regarding jumping horses, coach Munehiro Nagimiya, a Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Sport and Medical Science, Faculty of Medical Technology, Teikyo University, analyzed that "Carlos's jumping horses are evaluated for their sophisticated performance that allows them to be aware of the difficulty of the technique and even landing." increase.
