Hachioji CampusEngaging Research Symposium Explores Community Learning and Civic Engagement in Hino City

On Wednesday, March 9, 2022, a research report meeting for Miwa Ojima Seminar, Associate Professor, Department of Education and Culture, Faculty of Education, Teikyo University, was held at Hino City Hall (Hino City, Tokyo).
At the Ojima Seminar, which specializes in lifelong learning and social pedagogy, seminar students have conducted research, such as participating in projects at the Hino City Central Community Center throughout the year. By doing so, the seminar students cooperated in revitalizing the community center activities, and by touching on the local issues of Hino City and the lives and learning of the citizens, they deepened their understanding of community center activities, lifelong learning support, and community development, built the foundation of learning and research.

In this research report meeting, the results of the two 4th grade students who conducted graduation research in Hino City this year with the participation of the Hino City Board of Education and related departments / organizations, and the Hino City Central Community Center We carried out a research report of seminar students on the planning, operation, and results of public hall courses conducted by. The graduation research report is a compilation of interviews conducted with Hino City officials, citizens' groups, and residents through analysis and consideration. After reporting on the two papers, we received many questions and comments from the staff.
The results of the research on the community center course conducted by the Hino City Central Community Center were reported through a poster session in a friendly dialogue and exchange between the city department and community center staff and students. In the future, the posters produced will be exhibited at public halls and other places in the city. In addition, the survey results will be summarized in a report entitled "Hino-Learning Cycle-Making Public Hall Business Together !!".
