Itabashi CampusA student of this university was presented with a letter of appreciation by the Fire Chief of the Tokyo Fire Department.

Maki Gomi (2nd year, Faculty of Medical Technology) is appropriate for life-threatening victims of an emergency event that occurred at Shinjuku Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line on Monday, November 22, 2021. A letter of appreciation was presented to Mr. Gomi by the Fire Chief of the Tokyo Fire Department for his contribution to saving lives by taking various life-saving measures.
In this emergency event, Gomi performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a woman who had collapsed in the aisle while passing through the station yard in cooperation with the person who was there, and as a result, the woman's pulse recovered when the emergency services arrived. It was fully recovered at the hospital where it was transported.

At the ceremony to present the letter of appreciation held at the Shinjuku Fire Station on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, Mr. Hirofumi Shimizu, Fire Chief of the Tokyo Fire Department, told Mr. Gomi that "Mr. Gomi's appropriate lifesaving measures will give him a precious life. I am very grateful that I was saved. " Mr. Gomi also said, "I am very pleased that the results of my daily learning have saved lives."
Teikyo University will continue to contribute to society by appropriately demonstrating its daily educational achievements.
