What is college life like?
Collect information by phone or email from relatives and seniors.

EXPERIENCE

At the time of the exam, my friends wanted to go to the Kansai area such as Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara. At first, I was thinking of going to a university in the Kansai area, but as I researched what I wanted to do at the university, I realized that I could do it at a university in Tokyo, and I aimed to go on to a university in Tokyo. My parents, who were worried about living alone at first, acknowledged me at the end because my cousin was in Tokyo and pushed me back.
What I wanted to learn was "criminal investigative psychology." It is the influence of the drama I was watching at that time. I liked the flow of profiling investigations, so I wanted to go to a university where I could study criminal investigative psychology.

I had a growing desire to study at a university in Tokyo, but I was worried because I didn't know what my university life was like. So, as I called my cousins in Tokyo and seniors in high school who lived alone from my hometown and asked for advice, my anxiety gradually disappeared.

OTHER
VOICE

I didn't have any close university students around me, so I didn't have many opportunities to learn about university life, so I participated in the open campus and actually got involved with current students and gathered information.

The open campus is not limited to the campus,
Information is also around the university.

EXPERIENCE

I participated in the open campus because I wanted to know what college life was like. I wanted to see with my own eyes and ears the atmosphere that the students are learning and the image after enrollment. Among the open campuses I participated in, there was a large university like Teikyo University, and the appearance of the school building was very impressive. I was surprised that there are many beautiful condominiums around the university. I also referred to the information from my cousin in advance, but the impression changed greatly because I imagined an apartment or a small condominium in the local area.

The environment changes so much that I thought, "I wonder if I can live in a place like this ...", but on the other hand, I was able to solidify a concrete image, such as "Is it okay to go to school by train or bicycle?" I was excited. In that respect as well, I am glad that I participated in the open campus.

OTHER
VOICE

Anyway, I was impressed by the kindness of the student staff.
My parents, who participated in the open campus together, also wanted me to become a student staff member.
Also, the cleanliness of the campus was a key factor in choosing a university.

Call a local friend the day before the exam.
The familiar voice eased my anxiety.

EXPERIENCE

I chose the general entrance examination (currently: general selection) because I can challenge myself.
The difficulty was that the distance traveled to Tokyo was long. Since I didn't know the land, I was worried about connecting trains, and I felt a different tension from the test. Again, I remember asking my cousins in advance and collecting information myself to simulate the path to go many times.

I took a total of 3 schools and 2 of them were day trips, but I stayed when I took the Teikyo University exam. I used to play soccer in club activities and was accustomed to a regular life, but I was worried if I could get up in the morning at the hotel.
If I was studying to forget my anxiety, I wouldn't know it in the middle of the night. I thought I had to go to bed, but I couldn't go to bed, so I called a friend of the soccer club who had already passed. I just had a friendly conversation, but when I heard the familiar voice of a local friend, my anxiety was alleviated.

OTHER
VOICE

Since I used the regional examination venue, I didn't visit the campus when I took the examination, and I had a hard time not knowing the campus well after admission.

Living alone was difficult, but
It was a good rehearsal for working life.

EXPERIENCE

In the end, I chose Teikyo University to go on to university.
Immediately after I entered the university, I was worried about making friends, but as I talked with my colleagues in a class-based, friendly atmosphere in a lecture called Life Design Exercise, I gradually became more positive.
Living alone was difficult. Until now, I had been hugging my parents in a piggyback ride, so I often had a hard time buying, cooking, washing, and cleaning. However, I think I was able to spend a meaningful amount of time in terms of having a lot of time for myself and focusing on something.
I also feel that I have acquired self-management skills and the ability to think for myself when something goes wrong. When you become a member of society, you have to make decisions, make decisions, and act on your own. I now feel that it was a rehearsal.

After graduating from university, I got a job as a university employee at the Hachioji Campus where I was attending.
I am also involved in an open campus. I hear the students who participated say "the building is beautiful!" Or "big!" In the local language, like I muttered at the open campus at that time. I think it feels the same. And I want to send an ale saying "From here!"
By participating in the open campus and being able to feel the life at university and life in Tokyo with my own eyes and ears, my expectations for university life increased. Therefore, I would like everyone who wants to take the university entrance exam to participate in the open campus and feel the campus life with their own eyes and ears. As a university employee and a senior from a rural area, I would like to tell all the high school students again.

Even if my family is far away and I can't rush right away
I relied on my friends and seniors to overcome my daily life.
