In order to obtain a teacher's license as a full-time student, it is necessary to acquire basic qualification = university graduation (bachelor's degree) or equivalent qualification, and the credits stipulated in the Education Personnel License Law and the enforcement regulations of the law. .. Awarded by applying to the prefectural board of education to those who have completed the required credits and obtained a bachelor's degree.

Regarding teachers, the Fundamental Law of Education stipulates as follows.
Article 9 of the Fundamental Law of Education School teachers stipulated by law must be deeply aware of their noble mission, constantly strive for research and training, and strive to carry out their responsibilities.

Improving the quality of teachers is now an issue. In order to cultivate the foundation of "reliable competence as an educational specialist," students who wish to take this course are required to take courses systematically from the time of admission, fill out course records, and attend guidance. Become. It will be difficult to earn credits if you have an easy mindset that lacks the will and enthusiasm to pursue a teaching career.
In order for regular students of this university to take the teacher training course, it is necessary to register for the teaching training course separately and pay a teacher training course registration fee of 25,000 yen in addition to the tuition fee. After admission, the procedure will be completed within the designated period.

Precautions for obtaining a teacher's license

Regarding the granting of educational licenses, those who fall under the provisions of Article 5, Paragraph 1, Items 4 to 7 of the Education Personnel License Act below cannot obtain a teacher's license. In addition, you cannot enroll in the university for the purpose of obtaining a teacher's license.

  • No. 5: A person whose license has lost its validity due to falling under Article 10, Paragraph 1, Item 2 and three years have not passed from the date of the expiration.
  • No. 6: A person who has been dismissed for collecting a license pursuant to the provisions of Article 11, paragraph 1 or 2 and has not passed three years from the date of the disposition.
  • No. 7: A person who has formed or joined a political party or other organization that claims to destroy the Constitution of Japan or the government established under it by violence after the date of enforcement of the Constitution of Japan.

About application for educational staff license

Educational personnel licenses are granted by individual application to the prefectural board of education in which you reside in accordance with the Educational Personnel Licensing Act. A certificate of credits required for application will be issued at the end of the academic year. A credit certificate cannot be issued in the middle of the academic year.
There may be an age limit for teacher recruitment examinations.

How to get a teacher's license

About educational training

Teaching practice differs from other subjects in that it requires special procedures because the teaching practice takes place over two weeks in an actual educational setting. For practical training, it is necessary to prepare in advance, such as deciding where to accept the trainees. It is not possible to change the recipient once decided. Also, you cannot stop in the middle. It is necessary to take these matters into consideration and proceed with the procedure.

If you are enrolled in another university and expect to obtain a teacher's license, you cannot apply. Prepare a “Certificate of Academic Ability” under the new law issued by the university you graduated from, and follow the guidance of the prefectural board of education where you live or work, which is the granting authority ( shortage status, etc.). Students are responsible for deciding which courses to take. Students in the second semester (October) cannot take media courses.
