Educational Purposes

In accordance with School Philosophy, Graduate School of Science and Engineering (Correspondence Course) aims to educate students in information science, which is the foundation for future technological change, in order to respond to the ever-advancing nature of information technology, and to cultivate highly specialized human resources who have advanced information science knowledge and skills, can apply information technology in real-world situations, and can contribute to the development of information technology.

Three Policies of Division of Informatics Science Graduate School of Science and Engineering (Correspondence Course)

Graduate School of Science and Engineering (Correspondence Course) aims to develop highly specialized human resources with advanced information science knowledge and skills who can contribute to the development of information technology through Division of Informatics Science. A degree will be awarded to those who have acquired the following abilities and completed the required number of credits.

  1. You can master information science, information engineering, basic theory of information system and applied technology, and can effectively utilize it in the advanced information society.
  2. It is possible to analyze and integrate various problems in the field of informatics from various aspects, set problems, and solve them.
  3. Professional discussions and presentations in the field of information science.
  4. In the field of informatics, you can set research themes, promote research, and summarize the research results as a dissertation.

In order to enable students to acquire the abilities set forth in the degree awarding policy, Graduate School of Science and Engineering (Correspondence Course) has organized the curriculum for Division of Informatics Science according to the following policy: To enable students to study without being restricted by time or place, each subject will be offered as a textbook class, a classroom class, or a media class via the Internet.

  1. Specialized subjects will be provided with subjects necessary for learning from basic theory to applied technology in the field of information science.
  2. Under the guidance of your academic advisor, special exercises will be set up to further deepen your specialized knowledge through reading specialized books, reading research papers, discussions, etc. in specific fields.
  3. Under the guidance of your academic advisor, we will set research themes, advance advanced and specialized research, prepare master's thesis, and establish special research to acquire the ability to present the results.

In today's society, where various problems are intricately intertwined on a global scale, it is essential for scientists and engineers to have a broad perspective. Graduate School of Science and Engineering recognizes this and aims to cultivate talented individuals who can contribute to the development of science and technology in response to the further sophistication and integration of the specialized fields of mechanical and precision systems engineering, aerospace engineering, information and electronics engineering, and bioscience, as well as who have a broad international perspective and can make decisions based on the ethical standards of scientists and engineers.
Therefore, students are required to have basic academic ability in specialized subjects in each field, as well as the English proficiency necessary for research and communication.
We are looking for students who have acquired the following abilities and qualities through their studies in the undergraduate program.

  2. Have an ability to actively carry out research in specialized fields in science and engineering.
  3. Can promote science and technology from a comprehensive perspective by coordinating with other related fields in science and engineering.
