In addition to the educational sample garden and arboretum, greenhouses and ponds are set up in the botanical garden, which is used as a place for university education and as a rehabilitation garden for the adjacent "Special Nursing Home, Sagamiko Midorinooka". In the Faculty of Pharma-Science, all 3rd grade students visit the botanical garden as part of the "Pharmacognosy" class and deepen their knowledge of medicinal plants by actually seeing the plants.
In addition, it is widely used as a place for postgraduate education for pharmacists, and in the garden we can see many plants that are commonly used as materials of folk medicine and Chinese medicine, as well as rare plants that are used as raw materials for food and medicine.
