In addition to classes that emphasize Practical learning, students can choose a course that suits desired course and study highly specialized subjects. Each course has professional faculty members who can provide practical learning. Students can also acquire knowledge in a wide range of fields by taking specialized education courses in other faculties.

Faculty of Law Educational Guidelines

Learning the law is "to accurately grasp the problems of the highly complicated modern society and to find future guidelines by using logical thinking ability". Students acquire writing, logical thinking, and discussion ability in order to improve balanced judgment and logical thinking ability while learning basic knowledge about law. In addition, students learn English to acquire international perspectives and a wide rage of rich culture. Furthermore, students can prepare for civil servants and various qualification exams by selecting courses and seminars, and acquire a high degree of expertise in law by taking specialised cource.

Specialized courses

In specialized subjects, we will develop basic skills that allow us to think for ourselves through a curriculum tree that makes use of the accumulation from the basics of law. In the Department of Law, students select from the "Judiciary Course", "Business Legal Course", "Modern Society and Law Course", and in the Department of Political Science, "Public Policy Course" and "Political Course" according to their future goals, and enhance your specialty. In addition to strengthening the practical and practical curriculum for aspiring civil servants, we have added compulsory subjects to thoroughly acquire basic education as a citizen.

Exercise subject (seminar)

Seminars in the Faculty of Law are based on discussions by a small number of people. While deepening the knowledge related to law, students will build the foundation as a member of society, such as logical thinking, communication, and presentation skill. The specialized fields handled by the seminar are diverse, including the three basic laws of the Constitution, civil law, and criminal law, as well as tax law, corporate law, and international law.

Law

■ Judicial course
This course is for students who dream of becoming active in the legal profession and hopes to go on to law Graduate School with the aim of passing the bar examination.

■ Business Legal Course
This course is for students who want to work in a private company and apply their legal expertise to their business.

■ Modern Society and Law Course
This course trains human resources who can be involved in solving legal problems that occur in daily life, such as NPO / NGO staff and civil servants.

Political Science

■ Public policy course
For students who wish to become civil servants (general public servants, police officers, firefighters, self-defense officials, etc.). Acquire the knowledge and skills required of civil servants.

■ Political course
For students interested in the world of politics and journalism. We will arrange subjects related to political science and media to develop human resources suitable for the globalization.

Open Curriculum

Students of the Faculty of Law can take some of the specialized education courses offered at each faculty / department of the Hachioji Campus and Teikyo University Junior College. The credits earned will be recognized as a common elective course. The credits earned will be recognized as credits earned in your department.
