Educational Purposes

In accordance with the School Philosophy, the Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology has a purpose to train medical especialists who acquired the specialized knowledge, skills, culture and ethics necessary as a member responsible for advanced medical care, has abundant humanity and creativity, and can contribute to regional medical care. 

Three policies of Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology

The Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology aims to develop medical engineers who can contribute to regional medical care with the specialized knowledge and skills necessary as a member responsible for advanced medical care, as well as abundant humanity and creativity. A degree is awarded to those who have acquired the following abilities and have completed the prescribed credits.

  1. Have an ability to acquire the basic knowledge and skills necessary as a professional medical technician and effectively put this into practice on actual medical site.
  2. From the perspective of "technology is the heart," being able to understand the ethics and sense of mission of respect for human beings required as a medical engineer, and treat them with a kind heart.
  3. With a wide range of education and abundant humanity from an international perspective, have an attitude of aiming for effective cooperation as a member responsible for Team Medical Care in each region.

In order to acquire the abilities required for the awarding of a degree, the Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology organizes the curriculum according to the following policy.

  1. The general education subjects include subjects that help students learn about the ethics, communication skills, and International perspectives needed to become medical technicians.
  2. In the specialized basic field, in order to acquire the specialized knowledge and skills necessary for medical engineers, we arrange subjects related to basic medicine and clinical medicine which are the basis of the acquisition, and specialized field subjects systematically.
  3. In specialized fields, in addition to exercises and practical training, off-campus clinical training and clinical training are effectively arranged in order to develop practical skills.
  4. In order to promote the independent learning of diverse students, we arrange special elective courses in liberal arts and specialized fields.

The Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology aims to develop human resources who have the necessary knowledge and skills as a member responsible for advanced medical care, and who can contribute to regional medical care, health care, welfare, etc. with a kind heart and an international perspective. 

For this reason, in addition to learning basic knowledge at high schools, it is important to actively participate in school events and community activities to acquire independence, sociality, and cooperation.

We seek new students who are physically and mentally healthy, can adapt to four years of education including practical training, and have the following abilities and qualities through the above-mentioned studies at high schools.

  1. Have a clear sense of purpose and can study independently.
  2. Can listen to the opinions and advice of others and express own thoughts accurately.
  3. Have an attitude of actively engaging with others and striving for mutual understanding without prejudice.

Three policies of the Department of Physical Therapy

In line with the purpose of the Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology, the Department of Physical Therapy has acquired specialized knowledge and skills in various fields of physical therapy as a member responsible for medical care, and is independent and cooperative with abundant humanity, and restores motor functions. The purpose is to train physiotherapists who can contribute to community medicine from the perspective of prevention and health promotion.

The Department of Physical Therapy aims to train physical therapists who can contribute to regional medical care from the perspective of prevention and health promotion as well as recovering motor function as a member responsible for medical care. A degree is awarded to those who have acquired the following abilities and have completed the prescribed credits.

  1. Can build relationships of trust through communication that respects others with a wide range of interests in culture, society and nature, and a high sense of ethics as a medical professional.
  2. Hava a basic knowledge necessary as a physiotherapist.
  3. Have cognitive skills required for a series of processes from physiotherapy evaluation to treatment.
  4. Hava practical basic skills in basic motor skills necessary for evaluation of physical therapy.
  5. Have practical basic skills in basic motor skills required for physical therapy treatment.
  6. Have an attitude of observing social norms and rules, striving for self-improvement, and fulfilling his mission and responsibilities as a physiotherapist.
  7. Have an attitude of coordinating and coordinating with multiple occupations based on the role of a physiotherapist in Team Medical Care.

In order to acquire the abilities required for conferring a degree, the Department of Physical Therapy organizes the curriculum according to the following policy.

  1. In the general education subjects, subjects are arranged to help students learn about the richness of humanity, such as ethics, communication skills, and International perspectives, which are necessary for medical professionals.
  2. In the specialized basic field, we arrange subjects related to the structure, function and development of the human body such as basic medicine and kinesiology, related to diseases and disorders such as clinical medicine, clinical psychology, pharmacy and emergency lifesaving, and related to multidisciplinary collaboration.
  3. In the field of specialization, we arrange subjects related to physiotherapy such as locomotor system, nervous system, and respiratory circulatory metabolism system systematically by combining lectures, exercises, and practical training, and clinical trainings are arranged according to the progress of the grade. In addition, elective courses are placed in the 3rd and 4th grades.

Three policies of the Department of Occupational Therapy

The Department of Occupational Therapy, in line with the purpose of the Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology, as a member responsible for medical care, has acquired abundant humanity, ethical standards, and skills from evaluation to treatment based on medical grounds based on a wide range of education. and is. The purpose is to train occupational therapists who can promote health and well-being through work by understanding the relationship between human being and the essence of work and the environment.

The Department of Occupational Therapy aims to train occupational therapists who can acquire a wide range of education and medical evidence-based skills, understand humans from the relationship between people, the environment and work, and promote health and well-being through work. A degree is awarded to those who have acquired the following abilities and have completed the prescribed credits.

  1. Based on a wide range of education, can acquire abandunt humanity and ethics, and practice techniques and communication that can correspond to the field such as medical care, health, welfare, education, and occupation.
  2. With regard to occupational therapy in various physical and mental functions, can correctly understand the series of processes from evaluation to treatment and practice effective and safe basic therapy.
  3. Can correctly understand the culture and characteristics according to the life stage in community life, and practice effective and safe basic therapy based on scientific evidence.

In order to acquire the abilities required for conferring a degree, the Department of Occupational Therapy organizes the curriculum according to the following policy.

  1. Common education subjects include subjects that help students acquire a wide range of knowledge and rich humanity, such as communication and International perspectives.
  2. In the field of specialized basics, subjects of basic medicine such as anatomy and physiology and general clinical medicine are arranged so that effective and safe basic therapy based on scientific evidence can be practiced.
  3. In the field of specialization, subjects for promoting health and well-being through work-focused treatment, guidance, and assistance for clients are systematically arranged by combining lectures and exercises. And clinical trainings conducted according to the progress of the grade are arranged.

Three policies of the Department of Nursing

The Department of Nursing, in line with the purpose of the Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology, responds to international and diverse social conditions as a medical professional, explores nursing expertise, cultivates ethical standards, and contributes to the health and life of local people. The purpose is to train nurses with practical basic abilities of nursing aiming at quality improvement.

As a medical professional, the Department of Nursing responds to an international, diverse and changing society, explores nursing expertise, develops practical abilities, and aim to train nurses who scientifically collaborates with and contributes to the health of people. A degree is awarded to those who have acquired the following abilities and have completed the prescribed credits.

  1. Can comprehensively understand human beings and practice basic nursing.
  2. Can collaborate with people involved in health, medical care, welfare, etc.
  3. Be aware of nursing expertise and the responsibilities and roles of nurses and be able to practice ethically.
  4. While interacting with people as a nurse, be able to deepen own awareness of oneself and others and continue to develop own learning.

In order to acquire the abilities required for conferring a degree, the Department of Nursing organizes the curriculum according to the following policy.

  1. Subjects are provided to develop a comprehensive understanding of human beings, insight into human's various activities, the ability to explore universal principles, and the ability to grasp and judge phenomena from multiple perspectives.
  2. Subjects are provided to improve communication and leadership skills with multiple occupations.
  3. Utilizing specialized knowledge and skills, subjects are provided to develop evidence-based nursing practice abilities for people of all health levels from disease prevention to recovery and health promotion.
  4. Exercises and practical training subjects are provided to develop skills related to nurses, public health nurses, and midwife.
  5. Nursing research subjects are provided to understand the process of exploring new knowledge useful for nursing practice and scientific problem-solving techniques, and to develop the ability to contribute to the improvement of nursing.

Three policies of the Department of Radiological Technology

The Department of Radiological Technology has the ability to respond to social changes such as advanced medical care, internationalization, informatization, and environmental issues in line with the purpose of the Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology. The purpose is to train medical personnel who can contribute to the local community as radiological technologist who have specialized knowledge and practical skills in the field of medical radiation  related to clinical applications such as magnetism and ultrasonic waves.

Department of Radiological Technology aims to nurture radiological technologist who have a rich sense of humanity and ethics, the ability to think and make judgments, a high level of education, and specialized knowledge and skills in the field of medical radiology, and who can contribute to the development of local communities and medical care. Degrees are awarded to those who have acquired the following abilities and have completed the prescribed credits.

  1. Have practical skills from the basics of the medical radiation field to highly specialized knowledge and skills.
  2. Sharing specialized knowledge in the fields of natural science, science and engineering and medical care, health care, and welfare, have a willingness to learn positively, and the ability to contribute to the development of specialized academic fields.
  3. Have dignity in life and human beings and a sense of responsibility and cooperation as a medical person with rich humanity, and possess a strong desire to contribute to the local community.

In order to acquire the abilities required for the awarding of a degree, the Department of Radiological Technology organizes the curriculum according to the following policy.

  1. Courses are arranged to understand the spirit of medicine and medical care, and to develop a wide range of abundant humanity, high ethical standards, and communication skills.
  2. Courses are arranged to cultivate knowledge about the effects of radiation on the human body and safety management.
  3. Courses are arranged to cultivate advanced knowledge and practical abilities related to the acquisition of medical image information using radiation, magnetism, ultrasound, etc., as well as examination, diagnosis, and treatment.
  4. Courses are arranged to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills related to evaluation and processing of digital image information, computer technology and networking.
  5. Courses are arranged to explore new findings useful in radiation technology, understand the process of scientific problem-solving techniques, acquire knowledge in other medical fields, and develop the ability to contribute to the improvement of radiation technology.

Three policies of the Department of Medical Technology

In line with the purpose of the Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology, the Department of Medical Technology cultivates ethical standards as a member of society and medical professionals, acquires the specialized knowledge and skills necessary to support safe and advanced Team Medical Care, and acquires other medical care. The purpose is to train emergency medical technicians and clinical engineering technicians who contribute to the development of community medicine in collaboration with occupations or related organizations.

The Department of Medical Technology aims to train emergency medical technician and medical engineers who have acquired basic medical-related knowledge and medical skills, and human resources who contributes to society through the knowledge and skill responding to medical sophistication and specialization, and changing social conditions. A degree is awarded to those who have acquired the abilities specified in each of the following two courses and have completed the prescribed credits.

[Emergency Medical Technician Course]
We train emergency medical technicians who have medical knowledge, paramedic technology, high aspirations for paramedics, and abundant human power, and has a cooperative relationship with other occupations, as a professional medical person involved in emergency and life-saving medical care, especially in the field of emergency medical care.

  1. Have a high level of background as a professional medical professional.
  2. Be able to explain the cooperation and leadership to carry out emergency lifesaving activities centered on the injured as a team with an ethical sense of emergency lifesaving.
  3. Be able to explain the natural sciences and medical knowledge that are the basis of the medical field.
  4. Be able to explain the medical knowledge and emergency life-saving treatment techniques necessary to demonstrate safe, prompt and accurate comprehensive judgment and medical treatment techniques in pre-hospital relief and disaster scenes.
  5. Have a motivation to contribute to the local community, based on the acquired knowledge and skills of emergency medical technician.

[Medical Engineering Course]
Having the medical engineering knowledge and skills, ethics, and rich humanity necessary for a specialist in the field of clinical engineering, and emphasizing collaboration and cooperation with multiple professions, contributing to the local community, and advanced medical technology that continues to develop We aim to train clinical engineers who can respond to

  1. As a medical professional, you have a wide range of education and a sense of humanity, and you can recognize ethics and the dignity of life.
  2. Acquire the medical and engineering knowledge and skills necessary for a clinical engineer, and be able to safely and accurately provide technical support in clinical settings.
  3. Possesses good communication skills with multidisciplinary staff, and has the attitude of fulfilling responsibilities and roles as a member of Team Medical Care.
  4. Based on the basic knowledge and skills in the field of clinical engineering, students will have the attitude of learning and researching in the future, and will be able to have further creativity and ambition.
  5. Apply the knowledge and skills in the clinical engineering field that you have acquired, and have the desire to contribute to medicine-engineering collaboration and society.

[Emergency Medical Technician Course]

  1. The general education subjects include those that will enable students to acquire a broad range of knowledge as medical professionals, the ability to explore universal principles, the ability to grasp various phenomena from multiple perspectives and make comprehensive judgments, and the ability to adopt an international perspective.
  2. In the field of specialized basics, subjects are assigned to gradually acquire the basic medicine and basic emergency medicine necessary for the introduction of medical practice and emergency medicine.
  3. In the field of specialization, there are subjects for learning clinical medicine and emergency medicine, as well as subjects for acquiring basic emergency life-saving techniques and learning practically about the importance of Team Medical Care.
  4. In order to foster an attitude of independent and continuous learning and research, we will provide courses to foster scientific thinking in fields related to prehospital relief.

[Medical Engineering Course]

  1. The general education subjects include those that will enable students to acquire a broad range of knowledge as medical professionals, the ability to explore universal principles, the ability to grasp various phenomena from multiple perspectives and make comprehensive judgments, and communication skills.
  2. In the specialized basic field, courses are arranged to gradually acquire the basics of basic medicine, basic engineering, and medical engineering.
  3. In the specialized field, we offer subjects to train clinical engineers who have a correct understanding of medical equipment such as life support management devices, related medical devices for treatment, and bio-measurement devices, and who can perform advanced tasks and technical support accurately and safely.
  4. Clinical engineers understand that multidisciplinary collaboration is an important occupation, and provide subjects for Team Medical Care.
  5. Subjects are arranged to conduct independent research in fields related to clinical engineering in order to cultivate an independent and continuous learning and research attitude.
