On Saturday, October 12, 2024, 10 students from the Faculty of Science and Engineering and Precision Systems Engineering and Graduate School of Science and Engineering at Teikyo University presented their research at the Tochigi Block Research Exchange Meeting, sponsored by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, held at Light Cube Utsunomiya Department of Mechanical and Precision Systems Prefecture).
The event was organized by Iku Mitsuhashi, Senior Assistant Professor the Department Department of Mechanical and Precision Systems in the Faculty of Faculty of Science and Engineering, and featured poster presentations from students from Ashikaga University, Utsunomiya University, and Oyama National College of Technology, who are studying mechanical engineering in Tochigi Prefecture. The students introduced the research they were doing in their graduation and master's theses, which led to numerous questions and lively exchanges of opinions.
After the event, the Tochigi Block Fair was held, where students from elementary school to university could experience a manufacturing workshop. From our university, Associate Professor Yoshihito Ikemata of the same department and students from his laboratory exhibited a "Passive Walking Robot and Walking Assist Device," conveying to the participants the excitement of a walking robot that does not use a motor.
