Hachioji CampusTeikyo University Gears Up Future Educators with Inspirational Event

Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus played host to an insightful event on Thursday, December 14, 2023, bringing together students who triumphed in the 2023 teacher recruitment examination and those gearing up for the challenge in the following year. The gathering, designed to empower fourth-year students embarking on teaching positions in April, extended its reach to fourth- and third-year students who had undergone the teacher recruitment selection exam. The focus was on guiding first- to third-year students slated to take the selection exam next year, providing vital information on laws, schedules, optimal local government choices for the exam, and effective utilization of the teaching center.

A noteworthy highlight was the baton-passing game, featuring four representative students engaging in a game titled "TEIKYO QUEST." Here, third-year students posed questions ranging from the optimal daily study duration to when to commence exam preparation and personal experiences in readiness for the teacher recruitment examination. Drawing from their experiences, the representatives delivered straightforward explanations about the nuances of "multiple application examinations." The event reached its crescendo with an expression of gratitude towards the teaching center staff. This heartfelt message was conveyed through an original song titled "I Know This Song," composed by a fourth-grade student. The composition artfully captures the spectrum of emotions— anxiety, conflict, hope, and the future— resonating within a young individual aspiring to become a teacher. Teikyo University's commitment to fostering a supportive community for future educators was palpable throughout the event, laying the foundation for an inspired cohort ready to embark on their journey in the realm of education.
