Hachioji CampusNew Pre-Employment Study Session Helps Aspiring Teachers Prepare for Successful Careers

Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus has begun hosting the "Pre-Employment Study Session" for students who have passed the 2022 Teacher Selection Examination and will be working as teachers at elementary, junior high, high, and special-needs schools from April 2023. The study session aims to prepare students for their new positions by making effective use of their remaining time until graduation, so that they can reduce their anxiety and worries about teaching and class building that will start immediately after they arrive at their new schools, and so that they can teach responsibly for the benefit of students and teachers.

The program includes "Preparing for teaching," which covers how to greet students at the opening ceremony and entrance ceremony, how to conduct classroom activities, how to create lessons using ICT, group behavior, misconduct prevention, and how to deal with a variety of children. The students will also participate in a joint workshop with students from the Graduate School of Teacher Education at Teikyo University Elementary School, which is a group school of Teikyo University. Teikyo University Center for Teacher Education will continue to support students by providing them with a pre-employment follow-up system. With this initiative, Teikyo University aims to develop competent and responsible teachers who can contribute to the education of the next generation.
