Educational Purposes

In accordance with School Philosophy, the Faculty of Economics aims to develop human resources who can contribute to the construction of a creative economic society and business model by cultivating practical and theoretical knowledge and skills regarding the economy and companies of Japan and the world.

Three policies of the Faculty of Economics

The Faculty of Economics aims to develop human resources who can work to solve the national issues facing the Japanese economy and the problems that arise in business fields, and contribute to the development of the local economy and society, the tourism hospitality industry, and the promotion of tourism town development. A degree will be awarded to those who have acquired the following abilities and have completed the prescribed credits.

  1. Students acquire basic theories and knowledge related to the Japanese and world economy, regional economy, corporate management and tourism.
  2. Students acquire the ability to deal with various problems facing the Japanese and world economy, regional economy, corporate management, and tourism by applying basic theory and knowledge.
  3. Students acquire the ability to take action, independence, education, and ethics necessary for problem-solving.

In order to acquire the abilities required for conferring a degree, the Faculty of Economics organizes the curriculum according to the following policy.

  1. Students develop presentation skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills through small-group education from the 1st year to the 3rd year.
  2. Through taking introductory courses common to all faculties and highly compulsory elective compulsory courses for each department, students acquire basic theories and knowledge about the Japanese and world economy, regional economy, corporate management, and tourism.
  3. Through taking elective compulsory courses and elective courses, students develop problem-solving abilities related to the Japanese and world economy, regional economy, corporate management, and tourism.

The Faculty of Economics aims to develop human resources who can contribute to solve the complex problems facing today's economies and businesses by learning practical and theoretical knowledge and skills about the economies and businesses of Japan, Asia and the world from an international perspective. It is expected to cultivate basic academic ability such as understanding and thinking ability and wide interest in economy and society through learning and living in high school, etc., also expected to foster motivation and responsibility to deal with various problems and communication ability with others.

We are looking for new students who have the following abilities and qualities through the above-mentioned studies in high schools.

  2. Students acquire basic economic theory by taking the highly compulsory elective subjects "Introduction to the Faculty of Economics" and "Basic Courses" and the elective courses "Economic Theory / Economic History" and "Policy / Finance".
  3. By taking elective courses "Japanese Economy" and "International Economy / Regional Economy", students develop the ability to analyze the reality of Japan and each region of the world economy and deal with specific issues.
  4. By learning adjacent fields such as "management", "tourism management", and "information system" in elective courses, students develop the ability and attitude to tackle the complex challenges facing the real economy.

In accordance with the purpose of the Faculty of Economics, the Department of International Economy aims to develop human resources who can grasp and analyze the actual situation of the economies of Asia and the world under globalization, which strongly set the trends of the Japanese economy, and tackle various issues facing today's economic society of Japan, Asia and the world.

Through small-group education, "Life Design Exercise I, II" (1st year), "Basic Exercise I, II" (2nd year), "Exercise I, II" (3rd year), "Industrial / Corporate Exercise I, II"(4th year) , students develop communication skills, presentation skills, and attitudes and abilities to set and solve problems independently.
  2. By taking the elective compulsory courses [Introduction to the Faculty of Economics] and [International Economics / Basics] and the basic courses in the adjacent fields of humanities and social sciences, students acquire basic knowledge and theory in economics and adjacent fields connecting to the reality of the international economy and develop the ability to analyze the economic society of Asia and the world.

  1. Through "Life Design Exercises I, II" (1st year), "Exercise I, II" (2nd year), "Exercise III, IV" (3rd year), "Exercise V" (4th year) , students acquire communication skills, presentation skills, and attitudes and abilities to set and solve problems independently.

Specialized subjects in the Department of Regional Economics are divided into "Economics", "Local Autonomy / Administrative", and "Community / Industrial", and by taking the courses positioned as "Basic Courses" for each system to be placed in the 1st or 2nd year, students acquire the ability to understand the issues common to each region and unique to each region from the aspects of economy, law / system, community / industry.
  3.  By taking the developed subjects of each system and other elective subjects assigned in the 3rd to 4th year among the specialized subjects of the Department of Regional Economics, students acquire the attitude and abilities to understand the diversity of the region and deal with the specific issues of each individual region.

  1. "Life Design Exercise" (1st year), "Basic Exercise" (2nd year), "Practice" (3rd year) are compulsory subjects, students acquire presentation skills, communication skills and problem-solving skills according to the diploma policy through small-group education.
  2. By taking the "Introduction to the Faculty", which is a highly compulsory elective course for the Faculty of Economics, and the "Management Course", "Corporate and Accounting Course", and "Sports Management Course", which are the compulsory elective courses of the Department of Business Administration, students acquire basic management theory.
  3. By taking "Management", "Corporate and Accounting", "Sports Management" and "Information Systems", which are specialized courses of Department of Business Administration, students clarify and develop skills to deal with the real problems of corporate management.
  4. By learning related subjects such as "economy," "tourism management," and "law," students develop the ability and attitude to recognize and tackle the complex issues facing a wide range of real economic societies.

  1. Through the liberal arts education subjects (humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and integrated arts and sciences) placed in the common education subjects, we develop human resources with basic knowledge related to tourism, such as economics, society, environment, and culture.
  2. Through specialized subjects (subjects that teach people, subjects that teach industries, subjects that teach the local area, etc.), we develop human resources with the thinking ability to discover and solve various issues related to tourism.
  3. Through foreign language education subjects, Career-related courses, etc. placed in the common education subjects, and practical subjects based on Practical learning, we develop human resources who acquire knowledge related to tourism, have goals for the future, and can act independently.
