Teikyo University held the "Teacher and Childcare Professionals Alumni Forum," an event for interaction between graduates working in education and current students, at itsHachioji Campus

On Saturday, September 26, 2026, the 2026 "Teikyo University Teacher and Childcare Professionals ALUMNI FORUM - A Meeting to Discuss the Future of Teacher and Childcare Professionals" was held at the Teikyo University Hachioji Campus. This forum was jointly organized by the "Teikyo-kyoiku Alumni Association Research Exchange and Learning Session 2026" and the "14th Teikyo University ALUMNI Teacher's Meeting."

This forum aims to provide a platform for graduates of this university who are involved in school education and educational administration to exchange research ideas on education, transcending barriers of school type, position, and years of experience, as well as to deepen connections with younger students. On the day of the forum, 68 people participated, including graduates and students of Faculty of Education (formerly the Department of Education, Faculty of Faculty of Liberal Arts), and university staff. The forum opened with a greeting from the university President Yoshihito Okinaga, who is also Teikyo-kyoiku Alumni Association.

In the first part, Professor Akinari Takada of the Department Department of Education and Culture Faculty of Education, gave a lecture on trends in anticipation of the next revision of the curriculum guidelines. Following this, Kohei Fujisawa (graduated from Faculty of Education in 2014) and Riku Tamura (graduated from Faculty of Education in 2022), both graduates of the university, took the stage. They reported on their current educational activities, sharing memories from their student days, and spoke to the participants about the insights and feelings they have gained through their experiences, as well as the appeal and rewards of working in education. Fujisawa, who currently works as Senior Staff of academic affairs at a public junior high school in Nerima Ward, reflected on his time as a teacher and conveyed to his juniors the importance of "understanding each and every student in front of you," "the preciousness of everyday life felt through experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic," and "the importance of challenging everything without fear of failure."

In the second part, participants were divided into small groups for information exchange sessions, where teachers active in the field shared their daily practices and innovative approaches, leading to lively discussions. It was a valuable opportunity to hear from many senior teachers, including alumni who serve as principals, and participating students commented, "It was very educational to hear directly about the educational field, which is something that is not usually possible to hear. I was able to reaffirm the appeal of teaching and visualize my future career more concretely." Alumni who participated also said, "As a fellow alumnus, I was inspired to hear about everyone's achievements. I hope this will help increase the students' motivation for their career paths."

Teikyo-kyoiku Alumni Association will continue to provide opportunities for interaction among graduates of Faculty of Education and among current students, while Teikyo University will cherish its connections with its graduates and strive to cultivate individuals who can thrive in society.
