Our university students conducted fieldwork at an FC Tokyo home game.

On Sunday, September 6, 2026, students from Teikyo University conducted fieldwork at Ajinomoto Stadium (Chofu City, Tokyo) as part of FC Tokyo's Active Learning Program.

Our university has an official partnership agreement with FC Tokyo, and our students have access to an environment where they can learn about sports business through lectures given by FC Tokyo club staff and participation in social contribution activities. Students selected from those who participated in a special lecture held in June are aiming to plan, develop, and implement feasible solutions to challenges that FC Tokyo is facing, with the theme of "sustainability." This program is supervised by Professor Fumio Tsukahara and Assistant Professor Satoshi Iwamura of the Department of Department of Sport and Medical Science Faculty of Medical Technology, and Associate Professor Toshio Kumai of the Department of Business Administration Faculty of Economics.

During this fieldwork, Mr. Yoshinori Sudo, Director of Sustainability Promotion at FC Tokyo's Area Promotion Headquarters, and Mr. Kenji Mizufune from the Partner Business Headquarters explained the amount of waste generated and the disposal situation at home games, the goals of "SPORT POSITIVE LEAGUES" being pursued by the J.League as a whole, and FC Tokyo's current situation. Through inspecting the trash cans inside the stadium before and after matches, and visiting the waste collection site, which is not normally open to the public, the students witnessed firsthand the realities of waste sorting and the challenges faced by the club, making it an extremely valuable learning opportunity.

Our university will continue to support FC Tokyo together with fans, supporters, and the local community, and will also provide students with opportunities for multifaceted learning, including sports business and sustainability, through practical experience.
