April 23, 2026
On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, a welcome party for new international students was held at ACTrium on Hachioji Campus of Teikyo University.
This event is planned and held with the aim of helping new international students expand their social circles so that they can have a meaningful university life. Students from Ouchi Concierge planned the content and are in charge of hosting the event on the day. Ouchi Concierge is a student group that works at the International Exchange Facility OUCHI COMMONS and Center for Japanese language Education to support international students and promote intercultural exchange on campus.
On the day of the event, 43 international students and 23 Japanese students participated. After an icebreaker session where participants introduced themselves, including their country of origin and faculty, they played a telephone game using words from Japanese, South Korea, and Chinese, which was a great success. In the post-event survey, participants commented, "It was fun talking to people from different countries," "I learned words from languages I didn't know through the telephone game," and "I was happy to make new friends."
Office of Global Education at Hachioji Campus will continue to provide opportunities for interaction, allowing students to experience the cultures and languages of other countries.
