Kasumigaseki CampusProfessor Sugimoto and Assistant Professor Sueyoshi received the Society Award at the 33rd European Society for Endoscopic Surgery Congress

At the 33rd European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES 2025), held in Belgrade (Republic of Serbia) from June 17th (Tue) to 20th (Fri), 2025, the presentations by Professor Masaki Sugimoto and Assistant Professor Takumi Sueyoshi of the Innovation Lab Okinaga Research Institute of Teikyo University Surgery the OR Ready Award.

The European Society for Endoscopic Surgery was founded in 1990 with the aim of promoting the scientific advancement and dissemination of Surgery and minimally Surgery surgery, and aims to promote the development of minimally invasive surgical techniques such as endoscopic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and robotic-assisted surgery, and to provide education and training in these techniques. The society regularly holds international conferences, where it shares the latest research results and techniques, building a network of experts and researchers in the field of endoscopic Surgery, and contributing to the standardization and improvement of the quality of Surgery surgery.
OR Ready is an international initiative in which medical professionals and organizations from around the world work together to improve the safety and outcomes of surgical patients. It calls on hospitals around the world to create safe surgical environments and contributes to improving patient safety.

The award-winning presentation concerned a new method for achieving monitor-free robotic endoscopic surgery using a video pass-through AR headset, eliminating the need for large monitors in the operating room while also achieving energy savings and reduced environmental impact from medical equipment. The presentation was highly praised for its safety and outcomes in the operating room, leading to the OR Ready Award. Assistant Professor Sueyoshi also won the same award at EAES 2024, held last year, making this the second consecutive year the presentation has been awarded.
Upon receiving the award, Professor Sugimoto said, "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone involved in this research. I will continue to promote research and educational activities at our institute and at our university." We look forward to the continued success of Professor Sugimoto and Assistant Professor Sueyoshi in the future.
