Teikyo University Media Library Center exhibited at the 26th Library General Exhibition

On November 5th (Tuesday) ~ 7th (Thursday), 2024, the 26th Library General Exhibition was held at Pacifico Yokohama (Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture), and Teikyo University Media Library Center (hereinafter referred to as MELIC) exhibited a booth and hosted a forum.
At the exhibition booth, a blackboard bookshelf actually used by MELIC was installed to recreate the Co-Reading Library space, and students from the Co-Reading Supporters and MELIC staff introduced their activities. More than 1,000 people visited the booth over the course of the three days, and many comments were received, such as "It was wonderful with a very easy-to-convey explanation of our thoughts on the activities" and "I was very interested in seeing the quality of each initiative."
On the first day, we hosted a forum titled "Student Collaboration: What Encounters Connected by Reading Brought to University Students: From Seniors to Juniors 〈Co-Reading Library〉 The Inheritance Power of the 13th Year". In addition to Takuya Shinzuma (Faculty of Liberal Arts 4 years), Sakura Shiino (Faculty of Law 3 years), and Yuki Matsui (Faculty of Liberal Arts 3 years), graduates Naoko Ishiyama (2018 Faculty of Liberal Arts graduate), Yanaginuma Kayotoshi (2018 Faculty of Liberal Arts graduate), and Yuka Suzuki (2021 Faculty of Liberal Arts Graduation) took the stage and talked about the growth through the monthly activities of the co-reading supporters and the management of events such as the Seisha Festival, the difficulty of teaching juniors, and whether the skills cultivated through co-reading are useful in university life and becoming a member of society. Regarding co-reading skills, various opinions were raised, such as "I was able to use the skills of selecting information in report writing and job hunting," "I gained confidence in public speaking," "I acquired the ability to verbalize it," and "I was able to have my first leadership experience in my life." In addition, in a questionnaire from visitors, we received many words of support for Co-Reading Library 's activities, such as "I was impressed that the current students and graduates of the Co-Reading Supporters have their own words," "I felt that the co-reading activities are steadily improving the ability to think, the ability to step forward," and "The ability to communicate," and "I was inspired by the alumni who are expanding their activities outside the university."
On the second and third days, we hosted a "Co-reading Obi Making Workshop - Let's Make a Book Obi with Table of Contents Reading!" at the venue, and visitors experienced the "Table of Contents Reading Method," which is one of the training programs, through the navigation of co-reading supporters. On the third day, we participated in the 8th National Student Collaboration Summit sponsored by the Library Exhibition Steering Committee, and Mr. Kento Ohno (Faculty of Economics 3rd year) and Mr. Taiga Yamaguchi (3rd year, Faculty of Law) presented the activities of the co-reading supporters.
More than 12,000 people visited the library exhibition, which was held face-to-face for three days, and the students were able to introduce Co-Reading Library 's efforts while fully enjoying interacting with visitors. In addition, on November 18 (Mon) and 22 (Fri), during the online exhibition period of the same year, a tour of the MELIC library was held in an interactive online format using Zoom by co-reading supporters, and although it was a short time of 30 minutes, it was very well received.
