Hachioji Campus: Overseas internship to propose marketing strategies for Earth Pharmaceutical products in the Vietnamese market

From Sunday, August 18th to Saturday, August 24th, 2024, students from Teikyo University and Kinki University participated in an overseas internship in Vietnam as part of a joint career education program, tackling issues such as market development for Earth Chemical Co., Ltd.'s product "Mondamin." To conclude the internship, on Monday, September 2nd, 2024, after returning to Japan, the students from both universities visited Earth Chemical's headquarters and gave a presentation on their marketing strategy in Vietnam to CEO Katsunori Kawabata.
During the internship, a total of 20 students, including 6 students from our university and 14 students from Kinki University, formed five mixed groups and worked with students from the local Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology (HUFLIT) to conduct market inspections and questionnaire surveys in Ho Chi Minh City, taking on the mission of expanding Mondamin's market share and developing the market in Vietnam. At the local shopping mall, the students proactively approached customers at the mall, conducted interviews in cooperation with Vietnamese students, and considered the results as a team, which required initiative, enthusiasm, and cooperation.
After returning to Japan, the students gave a presentation to Mr. Katsuyoshi Kawabata, CEO of Earth Corporation, on the marketing strategies they had devised for Vietnam, summarizing the internship. The participating students received feedback from Mr. Kawabata, and some appeared to renew their resolve to use this experience in their future student life. Our university will continue to provide opportunities for "Practical learning," as stated in Educational Guidelines.
