Hachioji CampusTeikyo University Welcomes International Students for a Day of Exploration

July 13, 2023 (Thursday). In a bid to foster cross-cultural connections and global understanding, Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus played host to a special campus tour on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Nineteen eager international students from Kashima Gakuen High School in Ibaraki Prefecture embarked on a day of discovery.

The itinerary began with an immersive experience at the school cafeteria, offering the visiting scholars a taste of campus life. The tour, led by two members of the "International Exchange Assistant" student group, enthusiasts dedicated to advancing international relations on Hachioji Campus, guided the group through a captivating journey. Highlights included visits to the campus museums, popular self-study areas frequented by dedicated learners, the Center for Global Education, and the Center for Japanese Language Education - vital resources often utilized by international students. A pivotal focus of the tour was the Department of Global Japanese Studies within the Faculty of Language Studies. Here, Professor Yoshiko Furukawa, an esteemed educator specializing in the intricacies of Japanese language instruction, provided valuable insights into the department's mission and offered an engaging hands-on class.
Throughout the tour, a sense of camaraderie blossomed as international students, graduates of Kashima Gakuen High School, who now call Hachioji Campus home, eagerly mingled and exchanged stories, further cementing the bonds of this burgeoning international community.
