We have renewed our tripartite MOU with National University of Uzbekistan and Uzbek-Japan Innovation Centre Of Youth (UJICY)

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, Teikyo University renewed its tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with National University of Uzbekistan (NUU) and Uzbek-Japan Innovation Centre Of Youth (UJICY) (UJICY) in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and held a signing ceremony at NUU in Tashkent, the capital city.
This agreement is a renewal of the tripartite agreement concluded in July 2021, and aims to further develop cooperation in the fields of education and research. The signing ceremony was attended by Yoshihito Okinaga, Chairman of our President, and other representatives from the three institutions, who reflected on past exchanges and exchanged views on future collaboration.
NUU is one of Uzbekistan's leading comprehensive universities, responsible for education and research in a wide range of fields. UJICY, on the other hand, serves as a hub for promoting scientific and technological cooperation between Japan and Uzbekistan, engaging in research and development, human resource development, and industry-academia collaboration.
Academic exchange between our university and Uzbekistan has developed since 2020, when it began with country-specific training programs requested by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). In the same year, our Graduate School Graduate School of Science and Engineering began accepting students from Uzbekistan, and since the signing of a tripartite agreement in 2021, we have continued to build cooperative relationships, particularly in the fields of environment and energy.
In this agreement renewal, discussions focused on new collaborative research areas in the fields of cultural heritage and archaeology, which are characteristic of each institution. It was agreed to deepen academic ties through research on historical and cultural heritage related to the Silk Road, support for analytical techniques, sharing of academic information and expertise through exchanges of young researchers and students, and human resource development.

This agreement is expected to contribute to the further development of cultural heritage research conducted by our university in the Central Asian region, and to the promotion of internationalization by further deepening our relationship of trust with NUU and UJICY.
