The head of Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Marmara, visited our university.

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, Nuri Tinaz, Director of the Department of Sociology at Marmara University’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, visited Teikyo University.Our university and Marmara University began their exchange following the Asia-Pacific International Education Exchange Conference (APAIE) held in March 2023 and have been exchanging information on an ongoing basis ever since.

During this visit, we toured the facilities at our Itabashi Campus and Hachioji Campus and exchanged opinions on our university's internationalization efforts and future possibilities for academic exchange. At Hachioji Campus, we also observed a "Political and Economic English II" class taught by Associate Professor Hiroaki Ito Department of International Economy Faculty of Economics. In the latter half of the class, Ms. Nuri Tinaz introduced the students to the career of former U.S. President Barack Obama, incorporating her expertise in sociology, providing a valuable opportunity for the students to broaden their international perspectives.

Our university will continue to deepen collaboration in the fields of education and research through ongoing exchanges with overseas universities, and will also work to further promote internationalization.
