At the 58th Chichibunomiya Cup All Japan University Ekiden Championship (All Japan University Ekiden), held on November 1, 2026 (Sunday), Teikyo University's Ekiden (Road Relay) Club finished in 8th place, securing a seeded position that will qualify them for the next tournament. This tournament is one of the three major ekiden races in the world of university ekiden, with 25 universities that have passed regional selections competing over 106.8 kilometers in 8 sections from Atsuta Shrine in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture to Ise Grand Shrine in Ise City, Mie Prefecture.
In the first leg, Koki Matsuo (1st year, Faculty of Medical Technology) ran a great race, coming within 4 seconds of the leader despite being a freshman. In the second leg, Yoshihiro Kusuoka (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology) won the section prize and set a new section record. This positive start contributed to the results of the competition. Cheerleading Club, brass band, and Teikyo Sports Newspaper Club also came to support the runners from the roadside, cheering them on. Thank you to everyone who cheered us on.
