The 2026 Student Doctor Certification Ceremony was held atItabashi Campus

On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, a Student Doctor Certification Ceremony was held at Teikyo University’s Itabashi Campus for fourth-year students in the School of Medicine.
The “Student Doctor” program certifies medical students who have acquired a certain level of knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes; certified students participate in patient care as members of the medical team during clinical rotations involving patient care.Those certified this time are students who passed the Common Examination (CBT) and OSCE and will begin patient-centered clinical rotations starting in the second semester of 4th year.
During the ceremony, Hirotaka Kono, Dean of the School of Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery Senior Staff Professor, spoke about the proper mindset for clinical rotations; Takeo Fukagawa, Director of the School of Medicine Affiliated Hospital, offered words of encouragement regarding the awareness and responsibility that come with being a member of the healthcare team; and Akiko Tsuchiya, Director of Nursing, emphasized the importance of patient-centered care.
The students attended the ceremony with serious expressions. As they slipped into their white coats embroidered with their names, they reaffirmed their sense of responsibility as aspiring physicians and renewed their determination to succeed in their clinical training.
