We held a home game event for Rugby Football Club

On Sunday, October 11, 2026, the Teikyo Sports Supporters Association and the Teikyo University Rugby Football Club held a home game event at the Teikyo University Momokusa Ground (Hino City, Tokyo) in conjunction with the Kanto University Rugby Championship match against Nippon Sport Science University.
This event was held as part of the Japan Sports Agency's "FY2026 Comprehensive Support Project for University Sports," and was jointly planned and organized by the supporters' association and Rugby Football Club. With sponsorship from Under Armour (Dome Corporation) and Alpen Tokyo (Alpen Corporation), it created a space for fans and players to interact through rugby experiences, various performances, and talk shows. Approximately 460 people attended the event and enjoyed rugby experiences such as tackling and kicking. Shinya, a rugby comedian and alumnus of the university, also participated, enlivening the event through interaction with attendees. In addition, food trucks and merchandise booths were set up at the venue, creating a lively atmosphere for many visitors.
Before the match, our university's brass band played the school anthems of both teams, and during halftime, our university's Cheerleading Club performed a cheering routine for both schools. With the entire venue united in excitement, our university's Rugby Football Club won the match 81-5, securing their third consecutive victory in the intercollegiate competition.
Following the match, a talk show was held featuring Tomokazu Soma, head coach of our university's Rugby Football Club, and players, as well as Shuichi Akihiro, head coach of Nippon Sport Science University's Rugby Football Club Rugby Football Club, Yoshihiro Okabe, captain of the same team, and Paea Lewa, a player from the same Rugby Football Club. This provided an opportunity for officials and fans from both schools to deepen their connections and experience the appeal of rugby.
Coach Soma said, "I would like to express my gratitude to the association officials, the opposing team Nippon Sport Science University, and all the fans who came to watch the event. I would also like to thank the brass band for performing the school song, Cheerleading Club for their performance, rugby comedian Shinya for livening up the event, and the Teikyo Sports Supporters Association for managing the event."
The Teikyo Sports Supporters Association and the Teikyo University Rugby Football Club will continue to promote the appeal of rugby through matches and events, foster connections among students, and deepen their interactions with fans and the local community.
