On Friday, October 9, 2026, the Department of School of Medicine Orthopedic Surgery at Teikyo University and Teikyo University Hospital signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding for Interdepartmental International Exchange) with E-Da Hospital in Taiwan.
Dr. Yuan-Kun Tu, hospital director of the hospital, and Dr. Chin-Hsien Wu, head of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, visited our university for an agreement signing ceremony and a lecture.
Orthopedic Surgery at this hospital is internationally renowned for its advanced trauma care and surgical techniques, and excels in treating severe trauma and joint reconstruction using microsurgery. In particular, they handle cases that are difficult to experience in Japan, such as open fractures with severe soft tissue damage, vascularized bone grafts for nonunion, and nerve transfer surgery for nerve damage. The aim of this exchange of physicians between our university and hospital is to improve the skills of our doctors.
Based on this agreement, our university will diversify the quality of clinical training for our resident physicians and young doctors, and cultivate the next generation of Orthopedic Surgery surgeons who possess both an international perspective and language proficiency.
