On September 27, 2026 (Sunday), the Teikyo University Barbell Club participated in the 60th All Japan Intercollegiate Bodybuilding Championships held at the Yasuda Auditorium of the University of Tokyo (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo). In the physique division, over 176 cm, Mizuki Morioka (3rd year, Faculty of Medical Technology) placed 6th and Kei Izumi (4th year, Faculty of Economics) placed 9th.
In addition, Izumi placed 17th in the bodybuilding division. On the day of the competition, Akira Yamada (a 2025 graduate of Faculty of Liberal Arts), who won the overall championship in the physique division last year, came to cheer on the athletes and gave them detailed posing guidance until the very end. Even the students who did not advance to the finals in this competition were able to identify new challenges by experiencing the high level of the All Japan Student Championships, making it a meaningful experience.
Our university's barbell club operates under the motto, "We all support those who are working hard," and we strive to improve together. We would appreciate your continued warm support for the barbell club.
